At 7:42 p.m. on Friday, November 16th, Local members and several mutual aid partners battled a fully engulfed house fire on Cora Street in Kellytown, located near Highway 85 and Louvires Avenue. First arriving Engine 40 observed flames coming all the doors and windows and began fire suppression. The area has limited water supply available so fire “Tenders” were used to transport water from the nearest hydrant to the fire scene. Members confirmed that no one was in the burning structure and used a defensive strategy to battle the flames from the outside. No injuries occurred and crews prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring structures. The cause remains under investigation.
